-All Americans had to do was follow Spanish laws.
-In 1821, Mexico won its independence from Spain.
-Settlers would have become a Mexican citizen, become Catholics, and learn Spanish.
-By 1830, Americans out numbered the Tejanos one to six.
-In 1829, Mexico outlaws slavery.
-The Americans needed their slaves to grow their cotton.
-The Americans didn't learn Spanish or follow Mexican laws.
-When Stephen Austin was jailed, the Texans revolted.
-Santa Anna, led by 6,000 troops to Texas to put down the revolt.
-The first battle takes place in an old mission called the Alamo.
-By the time the battle was over the killed but 5 men, the rest were executed.
